Future continuous and Future Perfect Continuous

Could you help me out with this one?

I want to know where exactly the future perfect continous tense is used?

Can I use it to describe actions which would be continuing for a VERY LONG PERIOD?

Consider these sentences :

1. Cockroaches will have been existing in the world even after many nuclear wars.

Cockroaches will be existing in the world even after many nuclear wars.

2. I will have been smoking till death.

I will be smoking till death

3. Politicians will have been cheating people till politics exist.

Politicians will be cheating people till politics exist.

My pal says it is ok to use future continuous for LONG TIME ACTIONS and future perfect continous for VERY LONG OR INFINITE PERIOD ACTIONS.

Is he correct?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • In #1, we have an action begun before a future time (when it began is unimportant) and still in progress at that time.
  • In #2, the emphasis is on the duration from the beginning to the (later) future time.
