Future continuous

Here are two sentences that puzzle me.

1) I'll be spending more time with
you, I promise.

2) Unless you work fulltime
here, I’ll be occupying this apartment alone.

I wonder if the use of the future continuous in colloquial language is properly exemplified with these.

The first is fine. The second one puzzles me. This is more sensible: Unless you pay for at least half of the rent and utilities, I’ll be occupying this apartment alone.
