Mindfulness is learning to be in the middle path between denial, on the one hand, and hysteria or fusion on the other. Mindfulness means to know the truth without getting lost in it, remembering that thoughts and feelings are impermanent and selfless: they don't last, and they're not you.
In this paragraph, I'm not sure whether 'hysteria or fusion' is said to be in apposition. These two words are far from each other in terms of meaning. Or does 'fusion' here mean denial plus hysteria?
Thanks in advance!
