further apart

Can you tell me how a teacher will correct the following? How would you naturally say this please?

As we progress through the months, the phone calls she makes to him are further apart.

Thanks

That sentence is correct ! It's kind of formal though, more like written English. Informally you could also say: As the months pass by the phone calls she makes to him are fewer and fewer.
