Funnier

I've always thought the word "funnier" was improper use of the english language. Am I correct in using more funny?

funnier is fine. htm you just type in a word like funny or beautiful (or verb infinitives ) and the accepted inflections are part of the defintion which is displayed.

funnier is fine.
You can check endings (inflections) with any decent dictionary, and the Webster one is free online - http://www.m-w.com/home.htm

Perhaps you were thinking of "funner", which is wrong.
