Funner vs. more fun as correct grammar

'Fun' used to be only a noun.
Then young people also began to use it as an adjective.

My dictionary currently lists it as an informal adjective. But I think that in a few years it will become a standard adjective.

I can tolerate adjective "fun", as in "a fun time" or "a fun party", but not "funner".
