Vocabulary

funds

Hi,

Does funds simply mean money in the following statement? And 'funds' always appears in its plural form in this usage?

I need some funds (=? money) to cover all the payments I have at the moment.

Thanks,

Yes and yes, in this usage it's plural. You can have a trust fund, a slush fund, a discretionary fund... but when you need money, you need funds.
