Function of software

Hi, I'm curious to know:
You have software used for stock control. You have five pens in the storage, and then the software shows 5 in the box on your PC.
This 5 is the number of the pens stored (remaining).
What would you say the 5? The counter/value to show the amount of stock?

Top answer

The software shows and tracks the inventory level.

Or 'out of stock' if they have none left.

So it's common to say
eg The comp

I think the software shows the number of items and 0 or 'out of stock' when all are gone! Thank you for your kindness!

Yes.

In everyday English it's much more common to refer to the software as the computer, as I did in my previous post..
