full stop and quotation mark
Authors use full stop inside the quotation mark. To me this is strange.
Example: The story told above directs our attention to "modernism."
Here we quote modernism and the full stop should be after the quotation mark because as its name is self explanatory, a full stop is a full stop and should stop the sentence. Why the quotation mark is stopping the sentence?
