Grammar

full or filled

Which is correct please?

Once the bathtub is full/filled, I'll get in.

How would you phrase this please?
Once the bathtub isn't as full, I'll go get the towel./Once the bathtub Is emptier, I'll go get the towel. (Kids are in the bath, don't want to leave to room and have them drown)

Thank you

I would say either: Once the bathtub is full, I'll get in. OR Once the bathtub has been filled, I'll get in. This is how I would word your sentence: Once the bathtub has begun to empty, I'll go get the towels.

  • I would say either: Once the bathtub is full, I'll get in.
  • OR Once the bathtub has been filled, I'll get in.
  • This is how I would word your sentence: Once the bathtub has begun to empty, I'll go get the towels.
  • But you could also say: Once the bathtub is less full, I'll go get the towels.
  • (I wouldn't say "emptier" because that suggests is it already somewhat empty.
