Full-on

Hello,
Can you please tell me what "full-on" means in this context? Is it about a range of different flavors?

"It is reckoned that at 21 weeks, developing babies can discern full-on flavors with their senses of smell and taste"

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Full on flavour/flavor is neither artificial nor diluted with other contents. In England, “Ringos crisps (potato chips)” are advertised as “Full On Flavour”. I suppose "original" or "pure" would have a similar meaning.

"full-on" means "complete" or "fully developed."

In this case it means that these babies have completely developed senses of taste (they don't just taste part of what they are eating).

The word choice seems odd to me. My guess was that "full-on flavours" meant "strong flavours". Having read the other replies, now I feel unsure.
