Full of beans

Hi,

I know that when somebody’s ‘full of beans’, they’re very enthusiastic and they have a lot of energy.

Can it also be used for a dog who’s running around and not listening to me when I call her?

Thank you.

Yes, you could use the expression to describe an energetic dog. (It doesn't specifically mean inattentive to calls.)

If I eat a lot of beans, that is not the end result. [:}]

In American English, "full of beans" means that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
