Fulfilling or Fulfilled Life

Hello,

I have found these conflicting examples in dictionaries.

Every person wants to live a fulfilling life.

She has courageously continued to lead a fulfilled life.

Which is correct : fulfilling or fulfilled life ?

Both will do ?

Thanks,

Good day!

Hallo Tasman I think both will do I notice the word "courageously" in your second example. That suggests a slight difference: "fulfilling" may be used at the beginning and middle of a person's life; perhaps "fulfilled is used later on Regards, Dave

It depends on the sentence. I'm not too good with the technicalities, but the in the first one 'fulfil' is continous and in the second one it's like a done deal / in the past.
