The practitioner-scholar is a master level individual that is developing techniques, evaluating and undertaking tactics in resolving problems; and developing their skills to amalgamate testing, analyzing and concept (Capella, 2003).
Scholar-Practitioner doctoral degree individuals that connect analyzes, test, review, writes, and theory along with practice (McClintock, (2003).
In your own words, what does it mean to be a practitioner-scholar within the field of psychology?
Within the field of psychology the practitioner-scholar collaborates research by acquiring information implementing and ascertaining procurement, and reviewing the contemporary status of knowledge regarding a subject via literature reviews; reading and research analysis develops theories to solve problems. Process the information by categorizing, summarizing, and or operational information for understanding. They evaluate and implement new strategies, or approaches built on existing exponential, creating feasible new applications. Practitioner-scholar also applies and monitor new strategies to a practical situation and determines how to measure the effects of the approach. (McClintock, C, 2003)
How has your knowledge of this model changed your vision and goals in the field?
After being acquainted with this model my vision and goals has not altered in any way even after learning about this model; I am still determined to continue on my current path.
What are the top three aspects of knowledge and skill that you need to develop to become a psychology practitioner-scholar?
The top three aspects of knowledge and skills I will need to become psychology practitioner-scholar are research and theory, strong communication skills demonstrating detailed oriented and decision making skills,
