Fronting/inversion

Could you please help me? Are these sentences correct? Thanks for the help!

To me, both 1 and 2 use fronting, but only 2 should use inversion because the fronted element is negative.
1) In any city he had previously visited he had not been treated so abominably.
2) In no city he had previously visited had he been treated so abominably.

In 3 and 4, I'd say, both are correct but come from different constructions.
3) Outside Ben's house were two men fighting. <<<< There were two men fighting outside Ben's house.
4) Outside Ben's house two men were fighting. <<<< Two men were fighting outside Ben's house.

In 5 and 6, should I use the past perfect or past simple in the underlined part?
5) In we went when the door opened.
6) In we went as the door opened.
