Fronting

I've come across sentence Walk out we did (fronted verb) under the entry "fronting" in an English grammar dictionary.

My question is: Is emphasis in that sentence 'doubled' by fronting verb "Walk out" and by using "did" for 'emotive emphasis'?

Anonymous : Is emphasis in that sentence 'doubled' by fronting verb "Walk out" I would say so. It's a pretty rare form to use, but in that example, use it, they did. Don't overdo it.

No. The auxiliary is needed to provide a tense. It's the fronting that creates the emphasis. Note especially in the last example below that a form of do is not even absolutely necessary.

Walk out we do. / Walk out we did. / Walk out we will.

Thank you for the explanation.
