From vs away from

My house is 2 kms from yours.

My house is 2 kms away from yours.


I live miles away from the county side.

I live miles from the country house.


I live 2 miles away from here.

I live 2 miles from here.


They all were standing at some distance from each other.

They all were standing at some distance away from each other.


The were standing some distance from/ some distance away from each other.


Could you please clarify If and when I have to put 'away' in such cases?

Is there any difference between 'from' & 'away from'?
