From the text, ....

Hello,

I'm wondering if "according to the text" can be replaced by "from the text, ..." to mean the same?

Thank you

This is how I understand it:
According to the text can be used when we refer to an idea in it or what can be inferred from an idea given in it.
From the text can more or less mean an idea directly expressed in the text

I had no particular sentence in mind.
"According to the text, the author thinks that everyone should be ...."

I am not sure I understand.
Would it be all right to say: "From the text, the author claims that some people are superior to others"?

"From the text" doesn't really work properly here, in my opinion. However, in practice some other words, such "From the text, it appears (that) ..." or "From the text, we can see (that) ..." would probably be assumed in order to give it a sensible meaning.
