From the perspective of a lazy brain, it makes a lot more sense?

Hello everybody.
I am reading 'The Power of Fifty Bits' by Bob Nease.

The writer explains if people are in the dark, they are more likely to cheat. A group of people were tested by wearing tinted glasses, but they didn't cheat because the lights were on. The following is the explanation of this test.

"But from the perspective of a lazy brain, it makes a lot more sense. Over time our brains have come to associate darkness with a looser attitude about cutting corners."

Now would you please tell me what the bold part is trying to say? It makes a lot more sense means it can be better explained? Does it want to say in darkness we are more likely to break the rules?
Thanks ??
