from (it/its)being

Hello,

I'm not sure whether my sentence required "it" or "its". Can you please advise me on this? And first of all, do I need anything in the gap?
I would leave it as it is.

"Apart from ___ being a personal matter, it was too early to reaveal it to the public."

Thank you

In order for 'being' to exist without an explicit subject, its implicit subject must be the same as that of the main clause. However, the subject of the main clause ('it was too early') is not the subject of 'being'.
