Do all of the sentences below sound natural?
- His new car looks better from the back.
- His new car looks better from behind.
- In scoliosis patients, the spine curves side to side, when viewed from the back.
- In scoliosis patients, the spine curves side to side, when viewed from behind.
"From the back" is logical, as we can say "from the side", "from the front", etc. However, "from behind" doesn't sound bad to me either. What do you think?

I agree. They are both used.
However, since 'spine' is so closely associated with 'back' (part of the body), I would use 'behind' in that example. You don't want the reader to think, upon f
