Frig

Hello,

in P. Carey I came across this sentence:

He asked me had I packed his bloody purse. Well frig you for a Dutchman, I thought.

What does the sentence "Well frig you for a Dutchman" mean? Seems like a vulgarism? Idiom?

Thanks for answers

Yes frig (very old fashioned) is a vulgarism, the writer didn't want to swear so is using a frig instead.

And what does the "Dutchman" mean? Is it just a phrase as a whole?

Nothing special, it is just used as part of that phrase. It isn't a phrase you are ever likely to hear said.
