Frequency adverbs

Hello, I would like to ask you about using the simple past with frequency adverbs. Do we always use only the past simple with adverbs like often, sometimes, never, always or are there any cases when we can use the past continuous with them?

Top answer

You can use them with almost any verb form: I never saw him last year. I have never seen him in hot pants. I am never eating when she calls.
