Freeze-out

hi there!

I have a problem with the word "freeze-out" in contexts which are not legal. I know the 'legal' meaning of the word but how would you translate it in the following sentence?

She hit me with a Tenth Avenue freeze-out
Tenth Avenue freeze-out

By the way, the above sentences are the lyrics from Bruce Springsteen's "Tenth Avenue Freeze-out".

Thanks

Hi, I habven't heard this expression. However, to be cold to someone means to be distant, to be unaffectionate, with them. So, it probably means an extreme form of this.

Interesting ... I think Clive is right ... perhaps she forbade me to go to her place on the Tenth Avenue anymore ... or she forced me to drop out of her life, like the move in poker here:
----------
freeze-out

1 : elimination or exclusion by freezing out

2 : a method of playing poker by which the players start with agreed
