Freerice english practice

Hello,

i am learning grammar, by helping people getting food.

I find out couple sentences, which i don't understand i don't know how would i express these sentences for google to find them.

So i paste multiple, to which i can i get answers:

  • I am [busy;] otherwise I would go with you. - Why is there ; ?
  • He said, "They said, '[Okay.'"] - No idea why dot is here instead of one place to the right.
  • (This is a complete [sentence.)] - why is dot inside (), i some sentences is outside, don't know example currently.
  • ["Help!"] he yelled. - why there is no , after !"
  • I [lay] in bed this morning. - why this is corrent isteaf of "laid"

Always write I when you refer to yourself.
