Free spots/spare spots/free places, etc. ?

Dear All,

How would you say to someone that you couldn't find a spot in the library, that all spots were taken? I just said it of course, but what are a couple of natural ways of saying this?

Is "weren't any free places left" correct And natural? Can you say "the area over there (in the library) was completely full"?

Thanks in advance,

Buffett

Yes, those are all reasonable approximations, Buffett. I couldn't find a spot/seat/carrel/cubicle in the library. All the spots/seats/cubicles/carrels were taken.
