Free and entitled

howdy !

My friend made the following sentence but I think he has made two mistakes regarding usage of free and entitle :

Drinking is free across the world but in islamic countries people are not entitled to drink .

I think free here means that you you dont need to pay for drinking and entitle doesnt mean prohibit !

He actualy wanted to say that : In some contries you can drink freely but it is prohibited in islamic countries . Am I right ?

Your sentence is better and clearer. His choice of free is wrong for the reasons you have identified. He could have used accepted instead.
