Freckles and Blemishes

Hi

Are freckles and blemishes the same thing?

I tried to use Google images, but couldn't see much difference between the two.

Thanks,

Tom

Freckles are small brownish spots in the skin that are due to augmented melanin production and that increase in number and intensity on exposure to sunlight—called also ephelis. A blemish is a small mark or flaw that spoils the appearance of something (sometimes referred to as 'spots' or 'pimples'). It is usually temporary (treatable) or repairable.
