Vocabulary

foyer

Hi,

foyer = an entrance hall in a private house or flat/apartment

(1) How do most AmEng speakers pronounce "foyer"?
With a schwa at the end?.. or with an "ya" sound (a la French)?

(2) I understand AmEng speakers don't usually use 'foyer' for 'lobby'? ...and the word combinations such as theather/hotel foyer are very rare in AmEng?

Thank you!
