Four persons vs eight persons

Hi,

Suppose two groups of people want to compete. A person from one group say:
We have four, but they have eight, so we can't win.
We are four, but they are eight, so we can't win.

Are the sentences in boldface natural to you?

Thank you.

They are grammatical. The second is rather poetic nowadays. The natural would actually be: There are eight of them and only four of us, so we can't win!
