"academics" are people who follow scholarly pursuits. I don't think that's what you mean. Probably you mean "He is focused on study/research", or something like that. You could also say "He is focused on an academic career / academic pursuits / etc."

I mean the person at school paid all his attention to learn the subjects such as English math etc.
I want to know if focused in be focused is an adjective or it is the passive form.
