foster your strength ?

Please tell me whether the foffowing sentences are okay or not :

1/The doctor said to his patient who looked very worried and exhausted : " Have some food or you have no strength to keep living . Go home , relax and foster your strength " .

What does" foster "here mean ?

2/ Today I don't feel ok / well/ fine /fit /healthy

3/ Today I feel out of sorts .

4/ She was withering to skin and bones

Please correct these sentences if they are not correct or don't sound natuaral .
