I am not so sure about your answer.

-We have known each other for six months. Wouldn't that imply that you have actually met this person in person and then gradually know this person. Would it also work for the Internet?

-We have been keeping in touch for six months. Does that sound as a more sporadic kind of contact.

-We have been emailing each other for six months?

I think all three examples are correct.

during - anytime in the six months period we talked. So ' We have been talking during almost six months

for - continously talking up to me from almost six months ago.

since - the almost six months ago on the particular day we started to talk. So ' we have been talking since almost six months. '
