Hello from Russia
I'm writing formal request to opensource.samsung.com. It's my first experience in writing and letter of that kind. I'm not using translators as they won't correct logical and "they just don't speak like that" mistakes. Besides I want to challenge myself. So there will be a lot of those inaccuracies and wish you can help me to correct them. And of course punctuation errors, i make them even in my native language xD I need not so much of fixing them as direction to them and explaining so that way i can learn it. Thanks in advance and I wish you to have awesome day ![]()
ps. It would be best if you could put explanation in the some kind of parentheses (for example square brackets) is place of mistake. I know there will be a ton of them ^^. And all my message contain mistakes not only the letter xD
Text of the letter:
Hi. Thank you for issuing source code, it's very appreciated. I was absolutely happy when there was available link to several source code packs. I had copy of one of these packs, called "gt-n7000_jb_opensource_update2.zip"(if i remember correctly), and this version worked fine. I've fixed sound cut-out issue, started working on usb hid functionality and I was satisfied with that, but then I've paused my work for a while and unfortunately lost source code files. Now there is only one version avialable "gt-n7000_jb_latin_opensource.zip", i've tried that pack, but that kernel version doesn't start on my phone (splash screen bootloop), it is starting if I change local version in menuconfig so it's no longer matching version-magic of modules and they aren't loading by kernel. So I guess it's version issue of some kind. It would be great if I did not have to custom kernel. Well, could you be so kind and share with me link of gt-n7000_jb_opensource_update2.zip or another alternative link please. I will totally understand if you have no time or no permission to do so. And of course it's not for commercial usage, it's my spare time from college hobby.
Hi. Thank you for publishing the source code , it's very appreciated. I appreciate it very much.
