Hello, I don't know if my letter is correct...
I want that someone would tell his\her opinion Thanks.
Dear Sir or Madam,I am a student from Ukraine, currently studying at the school in 11th grade. During the summer I will move to the US and continue studying at the school in the US. Thus, the next year, I desire to admit to MIT. I am from Ukraine, so it is difficult for me to understand the process of applying to the United States. Although I have read a lot about the applying process, I still feel uncertain about several points. On the MIT admission site, I didn't find the information that can describe my situation with recommendation letters. I am moving to another country. Thus, all the teachers that I was working with will still stay in Ukraine. Therefore, may I take the recommendation letters from my teachers in Ukraine, nevertheless, I will apply from the US? Furthermore, the teachers from Ukraine, except the English teacher, cannot write the recommendation letter in English. How should I deal with such recommendation letters? Should I ask them to write the letters in Ukrainian and leave their contacts, then go to translate, notarize, scan and attach that recommendations to my account? The other question is that may I take the letters from the teachers from other schools with whom I am currently working? I want to do that because I am studying additionally with that English teacher, who is working in the other school. Furthermore, that teacher knows me as a person and my academic achievements better than the teacher from my school. Moreover, the major part of my English preparation was handled by a teacher with whom I studied extra. On the MIT admission site, it is said that MIT admits both the US citizens and the other for international students. Thus, do MIT has two competition, one for the US citizens and the other for international students, or it considers all the candidates equally? If I will be the permanent US resident (I will have conditional residence visa) in which competition will I participate? Do the English exam that I will take TOEFL or SAT influence in which competition I will take part? It is really essential for me to understand to which exam should I prepare. The next point I didn't understand completely is how my marks influence my chance to apply to MIT. In Ukraine, we have 12 grades evaluation system. It is said on site that MIT has specialists that understand other evaluation systems and that they will not try to convert marks to US evaluation system. So, how my marks will be estimated good or bad, and how will they influence my chances? In some universities, it is required to demonstrate grades for the last three years. Should I do like this at MIT? I am looking forward to receiving your response.Yours faithfully, Oleksii
