Form structure !!!

why in the following sentence the answer number one is accepted :
Plant disease, ………….. ruined most of the crops.
1-together with a prolonged drought, has
2-along a prolonged drought, has

I taught number two is correct

"along a prolonged drought" is not correct. I think you mean "along with a prolonged drought". "together with" and "along with" are both OK and mean pretty much the same.

"along a prolonged drought" is not correct. I think you mean "along with a prolonged drought".

"together with" and "along with" are both OK and mean pretty much the same.
