Forgotten word

Hi,

There’s one word I completely forgot and I was wondering that perhaps you could help me jog my memory.

Imagine that you share a fence with someone who builds a shed right next to it. The wall facing your side of the garden is ugly and there are some cables stretched across it. You find it very annoying/intrusive. It tones down the look of your garden. It ‘disturbs’ you.

There is another word I stumbled upon a while ago that also conveys the same meaning. I can’t remember it though. It’s on the tip of my tongue. I think that it starts with ‘e’ but I’m not sure.

I find the wall ........
