Forgotten / Forgotten about?

Hi teachers,
Do I need 'about' before 'Sheila' in the following conversation?
A: Shut up Mary! I'm reading the paper. What's wrong with that? I only need a couple of minutes to get ready.
B: Of course! Give me the newspaper, Peter!
A: What are you doing with the paper? Give it back Mary!
B: You can read it after lunch, can’t you? Don’t you want to see Sheila?
A: Yes, I do! I have forgotten about Sheila.
B: Oh! He has gone to the bathroom at last.

Thanks in advance.

Thinking Spain Do I need 'about' before 'Sheila' in the following conversation? You may easily omit 'about'; both forms are common. Commas are important here, and the first B remark seems very off: A: Shut up , Mary!
