Forgot or Forget?

Hi Emotion: wink

Please check the sentence:

"I met him in New Delhi, Now I FORGET or FORGOT his name." I can say "I can't recall him now" but if its a matter of forget or forgot than gramatically which one of them is the right choice.

Thanking you

Yours trully, Himadri Roy
