forget to do st/ doing st ?

Hi, when we use forget to do ? and when :forget doing ?
They are really different ?

I would say that they are actually different. Usually (I say this because there may be exceptions to the rule I am about to explain, although I can't think of any at the moment) "forget to do something" means that the thing does not actually get done. " "Oops -- I forgot to feed the cat!

("Don't forget to feed the cat." "Oops -- I forgot to feed the cat! I'm sorry, kitty! No wonder you've been yelling at me all evening!")
