Forget something somewhere

Hi

I am aware that forget something somewhere is not a native choice. I forgot my wallet at home. Native speakers use leave. I left my wallet at home. But could you please explain this?

Film Helen of Troy:

Our great pharaoh has been assassinated with Aryan's dagger.

That isn't possible. Aryan's forgot his dagger here.

Later:

I only knew that Aryan had forgotten his dagger in your room.
