Forego and Forgo

According to my Longman Dictionary, forego is just another spelling of forgo, but I read on a blog that they are different in meaning. What's your opinion?

Thank you for your help and time.

Hi, Forgo (meaning 'go without something you want') can also be spelled forego, but it is best to use the spelling forgo so as to avoid confusion with forego, which is an old-fashioned word meaning 'come before'. Excerpted from Oxford Online Dictionary. Hamed
