Forced than inspired

Hi

Is this conversation between a father and his son OK? Any suggestions please, especially about the underlined parts?

Father: Why do you want everyone in the office to be fearful of you? It's better to be respected than feared.

Son: With fear comes respect, Father.

Father: Only superficially. The respect that you see in staff's eyes is more forced than inspired.

Thanks,

Tom
