Hey people I'm just wondering whether this sentence is grammatically correct/if it makes sense;

'Stop trying to force your opinions on people.'

Yes, that's fine. Sometimes, native English speakers would add 'other' to the sentence, i.e. 'Stop trying to force your opinions on other people."

I think 'impose' is better than 'force'.

I wanted to say the same thing, Yoong Liat. However, on second thought, force is stronger. What do you think?

I prefer 'impose'. Normally we impose our ideas on others. To me, 'force' is more appropriate for physical strength.

"Impose" is, of course, perfectly good English here, and might be many English-speakers' preference, native-speakers or otherwise. However, don't imagine that "impose" is the only available word for you to use here. As a native English-speaker myself, I see nothing wrong with using "force" in this sentence, and in conversational English at least, I think I would be more likely to use it than "imp
