A company states its sales grew 29% last year. Is for you optional in the following response:

"We hope 2016 is an even better year for you."

The company’s sales grew 29%, which is good for shareholders or owners of that company. It does not mean that the person being written to is also going to benefit (unless he is one of those shareholders). So, assuming this message is to the company owners, the hope being expressed is definitely directed at “you”.
