For what was done right

I ran across this phrase that typically goes at the end of a sentence.

Can anyone explain what it means? "It has been 1 year and 7 months to the day since LOST ended its six-year run on ABC. During that time-period I have watched the entire show over, and had time to really let my thoughts and feelings sink in. I have moved past the point where I believed the show was perfect in every way, and have achieved a new, and even deeper appreciation for what was done right."

My thought is that it means "the show was perfect in every way, and have achieved a new, and even deeper appreciation that justified itself for ending the season without a real ending"

It also appears to me this phrase is sort of a filler? Thanks in advance.
