Question

Mr Jones lives in a flat on the 40th floor. Every morning, he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor and to go to his office. Although he hates using the stairs, when he returns home he gets into the elevator, goes up to the 15th floor, exits the elevator and walks up the stairs to get to his flat. Yesterday, though, he got into the elevator, went to the 30th floor, exited the elevator, and walked up to his flat. Why?
Possible answers will be: yes - no - doesn't matter.

the man is too short to reach the top buttons of the elevator, however, on rainy days he has his umbrella to reach the top buttons.

because it was raining and he had a unbrella because he is a midget and he cannot reach the 40th floor button but he can with the unbrella
