"for the purposes of"?

Hello!

My question concerns phrase "for the purposes of". Can I use it in the following context? Does it make sense?

For the purposes of ensuring the company’s activities, the shareholders establish the equity capital in the amount of SEK 1,000,000.00 which consists of 1000 shares.

Thanks you!
