For the first time and which tense?

Hello again!

I am wondering which tense can we use with for the first time.

Can we say I have been there for the first time or only It;s the first time I have been there is correct?

I have been browsing a lot of pages and I haven't found any answer so far.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I think you have options depending on the situation: However I do not see a situation we can use present perfect with 'first time'. I'm sure veterans will have more to say. Here are some sentences usind present past and future tenses: I am here for the first time.
