For someone's sake

Hi,

1. She was born to meet me. And I, too, for her sake.
2. She was born to meet me. And I, too, was born to meet her.

What is the difference between the two sentences?

I think #1 implies a sense of oughtness, while # 2 does not.

Thanks, AL

"What is the difference between the two sentences?"

I know, sorry bad typo!

So, # 1 implies that I obligate to meet her too while # 2 implies that I want to meet her too?

So, # 1 implies that I am obliged to meet her..

No, it is not obligation or duty, but fate.
Fate can be for good or ill. It can be fulfilled or unfulfilled.
And it is often the basis of tragedy.

So, which one is a good (healthy) relationship, #1 or #2?

It's definitely a (physical) love attraction, but that may or may not lead to a healthy relationship. It could be just puppy love.

1. She was born to meet me. And I, too, for her sake.
2. She was born to meet me. And I, too, was born to meet her.

So, the two sentences don’t imply a different level of my sincerity in wanting to be with her?
In #1 I think I have no choice, except to be with her, while in #2 I choose freely to be with her.

You might be confused with meeting and loving. Meeting is not a deep relationship. Compare with these:

She was born to love me.
She was born to be my true love.
We were made for each other.

OK, point taken.

So, basically which sentence sounds more sincere:
1. She was born to meet me. And I, too, for her sake.
2. She was born to meet me. And I, too, was born to meet her.

grammarfreakThe same idea can be expressed as " we were born lover of each other ".
That won't quite work. Perhaps something like: We were born to love each other, or We were born to be lovers, or We were born to be in love with each other.
